Two Plays, by Governor General's Award winner James Reaney, brings together his first play and his latest. Gentle Rain Food Co-op (1997) captures Reaney's whimsical insights into both the eccentricities of food co-op patrons and the fanaticism which may lurk on a university campus. One-man Masque (1958) tackles the big issues of Life and Death in a poetic, minimalist structure. These plays were produced for the stage by Ausable Theatre Company as companion pieces at the Grand Theatre's McManus Studio in London, Ontario, in 2002. |
